The European Council has announced the removal of Seychelles from Annex II (“state of play”) of the European Union list of non-cooperative jurisdictions for tax purposes.

This follows a positive assessment by the OECD Global Forum, confirming that Seychelles’ framework for the exchange of tax information complies with international standards and that the jurisdiction has fulfilled its commitments on tax transparency and international cooperation.

The removal from Annex II reinforces Seychelles’ position as a compliant and internationally recognised jurisdiction, providing additional certainty to investors, intermediaries, and corporate service providers.
