We are proud to announce that Axis was part of the Mauritian delegation that participated in the 19th Annual AVCA Conference and VC Summit held in Cairo, Egypt on the 1st to 5th of May 2023. The conference is a significant event in the private capital industry, if not the most prominent event, focusing on Africa.

Hon. Mahen Kumar Seeruttun, the Minister of Financial Services and Good Governance, led the 25-member delegation that aimed to position Mauritius IFC as a credible platform of substance. Our participation in this event alongside leading operators of the financial services sector such as Mauritius Finance, BLC Robert, and others underscores our commitment to driving innovation and growth in the African continent.

During the conference, the CEO of AVCA confirmed hosting the AVCA Summit in Mauritius in 2025, which is exciting news for the private capital industry in Africa. Additionally, the EDB will further engage with AVCA in exploring avenues of collaboration in areas of capacity building, partnering for the Africa Partnership Conference, and becoming a privilege partner of the AVCA. These developments demonstrate the growing importance of Mauritius as a hub for the private equity industry in Africa and highlight our commitment to supporting the growth and development of the sector.
