On July 25, 2023, during the official visit to Mauritius, led by Mr. Liu Jianchao, the Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, both countries reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen bilateral relations in areas like renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, and climate.

Minister Jianchao expressed optimism for a prosperous future partnership with China dedicated to collaborating with Mauritius and other African partners for common prosperity and sustainable development.
